1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the website, services, or communications of Cox Counseling (“we,” “our,” or “practice”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use our services.
2. Scope of Services
Cox Counseling provides outpatient mental health services, including:
- Individual therapy
- Couples therapy
- Telehealth services
Services are provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in accordance with Mississippi law.
3. No Emergency Services
Cox Counseling does not provide emergency or crisis services.
If you are experiencing an emergency:
- Call 911
- Contact 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988)
4. Client Responsibilities
By engaging in services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Participate actively in therapy
- Respect professional boundaries
- Attend scheduled sessions or provide proper cancellation notice
5. Appointments & Cancellations
- Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes
- A minimum of 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule
- Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged a fee
6. Fees & Payment
- Fees are due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed
- You are responsible for any balances not covered by insurance
- Cox Counseling reserves the right to modify fees with notice
7. Telehealth Terms
By participating in telehealth services, you acknowledge:
- You understand the risks and limitations of virtual therapy
- You are physically located in a state where your therapist is licensed (Mississippi unless otherwise permitted)
- You are responsible for maintaining a private, secure environment during sessions
8. Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy is protected in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and applicable Mississippi laws.

9. Limits of Confidentiality
Confidentiality may be broken when:
- Required by law (e.g., abuse or neglect reporting)
- There is a risk of harm to yourself or others
- Records are subpoenaed or court-ordered
10. Website Use
By using our website, you agree:
- Not to misuse or attempt to access restricted systems
- Not to reproduce or distribute content without permission
- That information provided is for general informational purposes only and does not establish a therapeutic relationship
11. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Therapy outcomes vary by individual. Cox Counseling does not guarantee specific results.
12. Professional Boundaries
- Communication is limited to appropriate professional channels
- Social media interactions with clients are limited to protect confidentiality
- Dual relationships are avoided in accordance with ethical guidelines
13. Termination of Services
Services may be terminated if:
- You request termination
- There is non-payment
- There is repeated non-attendance
- The therapist determines services are no longer appropriate
Referrals may be provided when appropriate.
14. Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, and materials are the property of Cox Counseling and may not be copied, distributed, or reused without written permission.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Cox Counseling is not liable for indirect or incidental damages
- Services are provided “as is” without warranties beyond professional standards
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi.
17. Changes to Terms
Cox Counseling reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
